Howard Johnson Lincoln

I feel like the public should be warned. This may have been the worst hotel stay I've ever had. There were buckets on the floor catching a ceiling leak, and the water stain made it look like it had been going on for a while. The room and hallways weren't vacuumed during our three-night stay. The coffee pot had bits of food and an old used filter in it, and the shower was incredibly weak. One night there was no hot water until morning. Staff on both day and night shifts were rude and irritable when asked for help. The front desk person even took a personal phone call while I waited for their attention. Avoid this place at all cost. I could go on, but I have a life to lead.

The overnight front desk man was the only employee I found respectful and understanding during my week there. I only liked one worker, who seemed to be the only white person working there. My room was hot, the window was screwed shut, and the A.C. was awful. I could barely feel it unless I sat right on top of the unit. I'd also like bathtubs instead of just showers, and a better breakfast menu. Unless I have to, I won't come back. Plus, it's now called MAGNUSON HOTEL.

It's an older hotel, but the staff were really nice about the shortcomings, and the room, bathroom, and bed were clean. Our fridge didn't work, but the front desk quickly replaced it without a problem. The TV wasn't the greatest either; they offered to move us to a room with a better one, but we were fine where we were. There was an outdoor pool where I could get some sun, plus a laundry facility. Breakfast was light, though it had the basics: fruit, eggs, cereal, and coffee.

My first stay was fine, but on the second I found bed bugs in my pillow and bed. I woke up with them on me and got bitten dozens of times. A week later I broke out in a rash from the bites. The manager comped that night and reduced my rate a little for the rest of my stay, but that hardly made up for it. I won't stay here again. Now I'll check the bed and pillow wherever I stay, and probably bring my own pillow or a bug cover.
