Residence Inn by Marriott Providence Lincoln

The lobby was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Inside, the rooms were much larger and nicer than I expected. The hotel seems newly built or renovated, or at least mostly well maintained. My room would have been perfect if the heat pump weren’t so loud. The thermostat was set to “cool” when I arrived, which seemed odd. Switching it to heat started the noise. It was annoying, though it eventually warmed the room. Maybe the bitter cold outside had something to do with it. Breakfast was meant to start at 7AM, but it was closer to 7:10. I usually eat around 5 or 5:30, so I was trying to wait patiently. There were four chafing dishes with hot water, but only two were being used, one for scrambled eggs and the other for a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. Maybe the other items, perhaps sausage and bacon, were still coming since breakfast opened late. For low-carb choices, there were hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, and yogurt. I took two breakfast sandwiches, removed the sausage, and ate them with the scrambled eggs. The food was hot and delicious, and the room was clean. I’d stay again, but would probably make my own breakfast. If you eat a more traditional breakfast, there are plenty of other options, including oatmeal, fruit, juice, waffles, sandwiches, and cereal.

The staff gave excellent service, and the room was spacious, but the maintenance needs attention. In the accessible room, the showerhead was loose and kept falling, which felt like a safety concern. Stains were visible on the drapes and floor, and the curtains let in so much light that I had to use the ironing board to hold them shut. I could hear dogs and footsteps constantly through the night and early morning, so the soundproofing was poor. Breakfast was the same both days. The rate for my room was also changed without authorization. With those issues, I wouldn’t stay here again. The hotel is right by a good grocery store, very close to the highway, and has lots of parking. Still, someone slept in their car behind my truck both nights, which was kinda sketchy.

A big thank you to Ashley at the front desk. She helped my mother and daughter sort out their TV issues, find the perfect place for dinner, and even brought us fresh coffee. I was in town visiting family staying here, and Ashley deserves 5 stars for excellent customer service.

We spent three weeks here with our two young kids during a military move, and the stay was so comfortable. My daughter Ava loved every staff member and misses them. Every person we met was smiling, helpful, and ready to make us feel at home. The housekeepers were especially kind and friendly with the kids, and kept our rooms very clean. I appreciated being able to walk the kids to the nearby shopping center, which had most of what we needed. The grounds were clean, and we loved the indoor pool and cucumber water in the lobby. Thank you so much for everything!
