The Herbie

We found this place at the last minute for a wedding weekend and were really happy with it. The room was clean and easy to get to, and communication was prompt and polite. The little courtyard is nice to hang out in, and being so close to campus and the stadium makes it look like a great hidden gem for football season. I'd stay again.

The Herbie worked out perfectly for our weekend. We wanted to be near Memorial Stadium for the Nebraska Football Road Race on Sunday, and it's also close to the NU campus. After the race we came back, ate Hurts Donuts, showered, and checked out before 11 am. The place was spacious and clean. Thanks for the great location!

The courtyard was great for spending time with family and friends, and the place is close to downtown. Everything looked nice and was clean. The bed felt a bit firm to me.

We never got the check-in details when promised. The place was completely unmanned, and the email with the entry information was supposed to arrive an hour before check-in. It didn't arrive for us or others nearby. We tried calling, but the number went straight to voicemail and nobody returned our messages. We also tried the Facebook Messenger option with no response. Travelocity tried to help after we booked through them, but couldn't reach the owner either. The Herbie eventually realized the mistake and sent the codes an hour late. By then we were looking for another room, since we didn't want to sit in the parking lot hoping they'd wake up and help. The town was busy with a marathon and graduation, and we had to be downtown at 6am the next day, so we were worried there wouldn't be any rooms left. Everything seems automated, and the hands-off way the business is run really doesn't work. If you get the entry codes, you'll probably be fine. If you don't, you can be stuck outside with a non-refundable room. It was very stressful and, in my opinion, not worth it.
