Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport

I spent the three hours I had left before my flight in a second room, with the lights on and my belongings piled on the coffee table. Earlier, delayed in Baltimore, I'd checked into the Hilton around 11pm, eaten at the bar, and gone upstairs by midnight. I turned on the bathroom light and saw a fast-moving insect, then spotted another on the wall near the bed. I killed that one with a Kleenex, then checked behind the toilet for the first. I found it in the corner, squished it with a tissue, and used Google Images to identify it as a German Cockroach. I dry-heaved my way to the desk with it in a baggie. The Indian man there showed no concern or apology for a '4-star' hotel, just asked if I wanted another room. I asked for an apology for the disgust first, then a new room. He stayed unbothered and put me on a 'higher floor,' apparently thinking roaches only climb four floors and not six. A few hours later, I checked out and he was still there. He asked me to write down my name, phone, and email so they could call, since the room was booked under one of my girlfriends' names and we had separate rooms. Four full days after I got home, nobody had reached out. My bags and shoes had been in the garage for two days, sprayed and wiped down, and their contents washed in hot water and dried on high heat. That man was a horrible representative for the Hilton chain, with no professionalism or care. Absolutely disgraceful, in my opinion.

Mahin and the staff made this a wonderful, VIP-feeling stay. The rooms were clean, it was quiet, and the location worked well. Staff kept checking in, which was amazing. My husband and brother enjoyed every moment here. We had first booked another Hilton in the area, but that didn't work out. What a blessing that we ended up here! We stayed the first weekend in December.

Jane at the bar was impressive. She was working alone and handling the bar and all the tables, yet kept everyone looked after and made spot-on cocktails. I also arrived early before my preselected room was ready, and Mahin at the front desk went out of the way to get me into a room right away. I was upgraded to the top floor, with a great view of planes coming and going at the airport, a nice way to unwind after a long day. I'm staying at the Hilton Baltimore BWI now, and it delivers the standards I expect from Hilton, with a good balance of efficiency and comfort for business travel. Diamond members can use the executive lounge or take food and beverage credits. The on-site food is good and amenities feel premium. Even with the busy airport location, the hotel is professional and welcoming. For an overnight or longer stay, staff like Mahin and Jane make a real difference. Highly recommended if you need airport access and Hilton-level service and comfort.

It's an okay place, but there are plenty of other options nearby and I'd probably try one of them. The public spaces and room were clean and working, though dated. The hotel had a refresh a few years ago, but it doesn't really show: the more costly items to replace, such as elevator panels and doors, are scuffed and worn. The shower has pump dispensers now, but in my case the conditioner was empty and the soap was missing. The front desk said replacements would be brought right up, but they never came. At about 11:30 PM, I hung the do not disturb sign and went to sleep. The next day I found staff had ignored it and entered to install new containers. The gym photos posted online were misleading. It's one room with about 8 machines on one side: 6 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, and 2 bikes. The equipment I used worked fine.
