Super 8 Little Falls

I can’t remember a worse stay. The bathroom was unclean, with a dirty washcloth on the shower bar, the previous guest’s soapy bar still in the shower with hair on it, and more hair in the tub. The sink and desk area were dirty too. One staff member was there, unable to leave the desk to clean, and said there were no other rooms. Online, though, it showed two rooms remaining. At breakfast, staff poured milk from a fresh jug into a carafe that hadn’t been washed and smelled sour. We went across the street to the gas station for breakfast.

We felt we got what we paid for. It’s a lower end hotel, so don’t expect an upscale place, but our room was clean and we’d stay again for the price and hospitality. The staff were kind, helpful, and very welcoming. A young man even helped with our luggage, and the front desk manager was friendly and courteous.

The service was nice, and the coffee was actually decent. The rest of the place was musty, including the building, and there was a pile of garbage inside the entrance. The room smelled like water damage and had mold; the sheets smelled terrible and the towels were damp. The bathroom door had a hole and kept sticking, making it hard to open and close. There was a pile of cigarette butts on the floor by the entrance door.

We went home instead of attending the event we’d come to Little Falls for. We lost $80 on the room, but the conditions were making us sick. The first room they put us in was in the basement and full of black mold. After we asked to move because we were getting sick, it took three rooms before they found one without an overwhelming smell when we entered. Even that room started smelling as it heated up, and the toilet ran all night. Lexi on staff was wonderful, though she wasn’t available to speak with in the morning. Super 8 needs to clean rooms before charging people to stay and get sick in them.
