La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Livingston

The bed and pillows were comfortable, breakfast was good, and the staff were nice. The rest of this stay was the worst we’ve had, even though I’m a rewards member who usually loves La Quinta. I cleaned up after ourselves, took out the trash and removed the dirty linens, but we checked out at 1 PM on Sunday and they’re still trying to charge me for another night and three nights of pet fees. There were plenty of room problems, too. The shade wouldn’t close fully, a hook on the back of the door came off when we tried to hang a towel, the ice bucket had been left with water in it and grime around the rim, and an opened coffee packet had spilled into its tray. The tub rust was awful. I clean houses, motels, and Airbnbs, and some care could have helped. I care a lot about bathtubs, so that was a big letdown. The sink was cracked, with too little space for a short person to get their hands under the faucet, and the chair was broken. It tipped when you sat down, so you had to lean it against the wall. The wall was scratched, probably from people doing that. I’d like them to contact me. I might consider changing my rating.

The front desk gals were great and helpful, but the room and breakfast were both disappointing. There was trash piled up around the eating area, and the eggs were bad instant ones. Better to go to Whataburger two minutes away for breakfast. I’d stayed here several years ago and remembered it as nice. This time, visiting family in Livingston, I found a dirty room. There were dead gnats and someone else’s hair all over the bedding, dirt around the edges of the tub, and a dirty shower. The sink was cracked and the futon had stains everywhere. It was gross. I slept on top of the comforter and used my own sheet and blanket.

Breakfast is routinely hours late, and apparently the staff think 6 is too early to start working. Some of them are unprofessional, including one who curses like a sailor. Wi-Fi now costs $5 per day for people who aren’t rewards members, and Corpay guests without a direct reservation can’t get it free even if they have membership. A rewards login won’t work on the Fire Stick or the old TV, so don’t bother bringing one. On an extended stay, the cleaning staff will ignore you. This hotel seems to be competing with McDonald's to see how few amenities it can offer. It doesn’t seem to understand hospitality, and staying here feels like a personal mission to make guests regret it.

Destiney has done everything she could to make my stay comfortable and peaceful. I’d recommend this hotel to my family and friends. Five stars for her, she deserves a raise! , Barrett ,
