Yellowstone Valley Lodge, an Ascend Collection Hotel

On our drive back to Canada after leaving Yellowstone Park, we stayed at Yellowstone Valley Lodge, and it was much better than we expected. The room was quiet and looked out on the Yellowstone River, and the staff were friendly. Usually we head out of hotels as early as possible, but my wife and daughter were busy taking selfies, so we didn’t check out until almost 11am. The mountain scenery from the restaurant was beautiful. My photos say it better than I can. We’d definitely stay here again next time.

The service was excellent, it was dog friendly, and we had everything we needed. The on-site restaurant was delicious too.

Bugs kept us from enjoying the deck chairs as much as we’d hoped, but we still loved watching the sunrises and sunsets over the river and mountains. We also enjoyed seeing lots of birds, including eagles and kingfishers. Our king room was clean and had all the amenities we expected. The continental breakfast was among the best I’ve had at a hotel, especially the breakfast pizza. When we wanted to leave early for Yellowstone, the staff packed us a to-go box, which we really appreciated.

Our family of four stayed for five nights, and the view of the mountains and wildlife across the Yellowstone River from our room was amazing. Each morning, breakfast at the restaurant felt like a gourmet experience, with breathtaking snowcapped mountain views and a different selection of food each day. The rooms were super clean, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will definitely return.
