Lodi Valley Suites

After an unexpected soaking on the Ice Age Trail, I walked in and found a clean, warm, quiet room. Hot water and a fair price were just what I needed. I also like spending my money at a local business instead of another chain. There’s a pizza place right next door that worked perfectly for dinner. No breakfast, but at that rate, with prices going up, it wasn’t a surprise. Highly recommend.

The room had a nasty smell, and the next day they added another $50 charge, supposedly for that same stink that was already there. Nobody told me about the extra fee. I only found it when I checked my bank account. When I returned the key, nobody mentioned any smell either. They stole my money, and I’m going to report the place to the BBB. Smh.

My booking receipt from priceline showed a lower amount than what they charged me. There was never anyone at the front desk during my stay, so I had to call to get help. The room smelled strongly of mildew and mold as soon as I walked in. Water covered the floor around the sink, which was leaking into a bucket underneath. The phone and alarm clock didn’t work, and the TV remote was broken. Shower toiletries had already been opened and used, and there was leftover mess from previous guests around and behind the furniture. The entrance coffee station only had instant coffee, with no cream or sugar. The pool and restaurant weren’t operating and looked completely abandoned. Service was awful and it was a waste of money. Don’t book here. You’d be better off camping or sleeping in your car.

This is a low-budget place without a pool, but it had what I needed in a small town. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I couldn’t find a vending machine, so they gave me a full-size bag of chips. They also pointed me to a place where I could charge my electric car overnight, which was a big help.
