Our Place At The Beach

Inside, the unit was spacious and nice, and good value for the price. It was a decent place to stay by the beach, with everything in Long Beach close by. Unfortunately, I didn’t find out about the extra dog fees until I arrived.

The bathroom windows are transparent, and the curtains let you see through them. In the main room, the curtains were so skimpy that I used my hair clips to get some privacy. The bed was the usual white motel six bed. Room 109 was noisy enough that I couldn’t sleep. The washing machine in the next room is badly unbalanced and sits against the same wall as the bed, so the whole wall vibrates for hours. There were slamming doors and stomping too, and I could hear laundry late into the night. I should’ve brought earplugs. The city streets were quieter. Most rooms seem to be rented privately for long stays, which gives the place an odd feel. The bathroom corners were dirty, and there was a sign on the front door telling guests to clean up after themselves. A pretty special feeling for my birthday weekend. This wasn’t what I expected. To be fair, for $90 it’s a roof and heat without an odor, so you can’t expect the ritz.

The location was great, within walking distance of town, and the woman who checked us in was friendly and helpful. The price was okay, but too much for what we got. The floors were dirty, the bathroom needed a deep clean, and the mini coffee maker was so filthy I wouldn’t use it. The beds were hard and noisy whenever you moved. We could hear everything from the people upstairs and to our left, and parking was awful. Every spot was taken, so we had to get creative.

The spa was super cute and nicely decorated, with a sauna, two hot tubs, private showers, and a little gym. The room itself was really nice, clean, and pretty, and the place was comfortable, quiet, and not busy. The woman at the front desk was kind and lets you borrow books, movies, and games. It felt super cozy, and I’d definitely come again.
