Royal Inn Motel Long Beach

Good food is just a short walk away, less than half a block, and the location is fantastic.

Parking is scarce and the spaces are really tight, as if nobody planned for cars. The neighborhood is older, and there was a lot of noise from people on the street. My deluxe king room had been remodeled somewhat, but it looked nothing like the photos I’d seen. The price was reasonable for the area.

The room looked poorly checked between guests. There were questionable red marks on the lampshade and something that looked like dried blood in the pictured drawer. The microwave was so dirty we didn’t want to heat up the Maruchan we’d brought. The area was okay, though at times uncomfortable. We booked in a hurry, and I hadn’t researched it properly. If I’d looked into it first, I wouldn’t have stayed. There’s a reason it’s so cheap and non-refundable. If you have other choices, look at those.

Fine for one night, but it’s a low-budget place, so keep expectations low. The room was pretty clean, the bathroom was okay, and there’s parking. Service was minimal. Kind of has that “No tell Motel” feel.
