Seaport Marina

The staff were pleasant and accommodating, and the room was clean, had a fridge, and was close to the beach. Rates are always good. The place looks a little old and run down and could use upgrades, but for the price, it’s hard to beat.

The front desk and housekeeping were helpful and professional, and housekeeping did what they could when asked to clean the walls. The beds were nice and clean, and the flooring was new, but the walls had footprints, fingerprints, and smudges. It needs some TLC and a bit of beautifying. I’ve stayed in much cleaner, nicer places for the $128 I spent.

I won’t be coming back. We came for a four-day music fest held at the hotel, and they raised the usual price to a ridiculous $130. Security and staff made us feel uncivilized. They threatened to kick us and our friends out because we asked the front desk about our bathroom door, which still hadn’t been fixed after two calls for maintenance. The hinge was so rusty it had pulled away from the frame, leaving the door crooked and unable to shut. Another friend was threatened with being kicked out for smoking outside, then told to smoke in his non-smoking room. When he pointed that out, staff said to use the patio instead. The carpet was filthy, there was mold everywhere, and while our room didn’t have the ants some others did, we found roaches in the bathroom and one in our leftover pizza box.

We were in the Marina ballroom, which looked much more presentable, though the bartender wasn’t very friendly or professional. The main lobby was another story, with buckets catching ceiling or roof leaks. The place looked and smelled like a cheap motel.
