Shelburne Hotel

I've stayed at almost all the hotels in this group. Staff at some can be a bit dodgy, but the team at the Shelburne is impeccable. Leah, the manager, is warm, friendly, and really good at her job, and the rest of the staff follow her lead. It makes this the most relaxing property in the group by far. The stairs are a little crooked and the floors sometimes slope, but that just adds to the heartwarming charm.

The Shelburne has a smaller, less busy feel, which we loved. We also enjoyed using the bikes and the pool and sauna at the sister hotel. Leah and the staff were quick to respond, whether we asked in person or by text, and made it easy to get what we needed. We ate at the pub both nights. The food was so good that on the second night we ordered room service instead. The only downside was the thin walls, since hallway conversations carried into the room. Otherwise, we had a lot of good things to say about our stay.

There's a nice grocery store right across the street, and the beach isn't far away. As guests, we could also use the saline pool and saunas at another property nearby, and we especially enjoyed the sauna. The Shelburne is cozy and comfortable, with a beautifully restored and maintained historic feel. Our room was cute and snug, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We had an amazing stay this past weekend and will recommend it to anyone we know heading to the WA coast. Thanks for having us!

The hotel has lovely woodwork throughout, from the food area to the rooms, and the bar inside is beautiful. We hadn't realized when booking that the Shelburne Hotel is among the oldest hotels in the United States or that it's featured in a book honoring notable hotels. I couldn't have chosen a more perfect place.
