Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location and price were great. Still, getting a good night’s sleep was tough. The outside lights were incredibly bright and kept the room lit even with the blinds closed. My daughter woke at midnight and asked if it was morning because so much light came in around the windows. It may just have been our room, but I’d bring a sleep mask. Some sound protection might help too, since the metal entry gate slams loudly as guests come and go. Our room’s location may have played a part in that as well.

This place is tiny, quiet, and relaxed, and I felt safe the whole time. The courtyard is well lit. There are people who hang around the Vons parking lot or near the Pier, but nothing wild or unusual. It’s an old building with thin walls, though other guests were quiet and I sleep with brown noise anyway, so that wasn’t a problem. The renovation is quality work, everything is new and super clean, and the room had hot water, a comfy bed, clean towels, full-size toiletries, hangers, and great natural light. The bed has a motion detector nightlight, and there’s a decent-sized little fridge. There’s no coffee or microwave, but I didn’t miss either. A sheer curtain would be a useful improvement so you don’t have to close the whole blind or change in the toilet area. The location is amazing: two seconds to the beach on foot, close to grocery shopping at Von’s and amazing Mediterranean food. Go to Gypsy’s every night. The office is just a tiny desk, and the guy working there was super nice. We traded food recommendations, and he said the best pita is at Sababa in Anaheim. My friend was meant to host me but wasn’t feeling well when I landed, so I needed an affordable room at the last minute. When my Lyft dropped me off after dark, the driver gave me a Dad-look, like, “you sure about this?” From the street, all you can see is one of those little motel Vacancy windows. The room was exactly as pictured, and I’d absolutely stay solo again. It also has a lowkey honeymoon vibe, so I’d love to come back with my hubs. I wound up staying a second night, which was welcome. I ran along the beach morning and evening, and one afternoon walked an easy, beautiful 15 minutes to “The Library” coffee shop to work remotely. I hope they can keep the rates affordable and continue to do well. I’d recommend it and will be back. My first night in Room 10 cost $111 after tax, and the second went up to $145. I probably could have bargained or switched rooms, but I stayed where I was because I liked it. I’ve stayed in the fanciest and worst places, and this was just right.

We’re locals, but we loved our little getaway for my husband’s 40th birthday. The rooms were really nice, and the bed and pillows worked well for us. There are some great coffee shops and places to eat all around. We can’t wait for our next quick escape.

The room was bright, recently updated, and very clean, with a comfortable bed and a roomy bathroom, especially the shower. Mike at the front desk was kind, too. They’re refreshing all the rooms, and ours looked great. We stayed in late December. The inn feels tucked away but is handy for lots of places, including the beach and a grocery store, and the pier is just a short walk. Parking is limited and tight, though we found a nearby street spot once the lot filled. If stairs are a concern, let the office know. I didn’t see an elevator to the upper floors. It worked well as a comfortable place to come back to after a day out.

The bed was super comfortable, and we liked the room a lot. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and the beach is only seconds away on foot. My wife and I loved our stay and are already looking forward to coming back in April.
