Uptown Inn

For the price, this place is extremely good, and I'd stay again. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and the internet was fast. The location is really convenient, with grocery stores and bus stations an easy walk away.

You have to walk quite a way to get coffee at the 7-Eleven or the donut shop, which is in the opposite direction. The microwave outside the room barely worked, the water dispenser didn't work at all, and I had to buy water to drink. The room itself had gray walls and a dirty bathtub. I bought cleanser and scrubbed it myself after they didn't clean it when I told them. Once it was halfway decent enough to sit in, I found it wouldn't hold water. What a waste of the time and money I spent buying bathroom cleaner for a place that should have been clean. I was generous giving this the one star, since it was probably the worst Motel I've ever stayed in. I thought it would be a good place because another review said the people were friendly. The person in charge, who I think was the owner, was anything but friendly and acted like we were suspicious. I overheard him accuse another guest of smoking in the room. When the guy denied it, he said he had a camera in the room. I checked mine and believe there was a camera on top of the TV. It could see me from most angles while dressing, undressing, doing anything, even sleeping, and I didn't like that. The one star is deserved, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who can pay a little more for better quality than a hole in the wall monitored by a camera.

They make me check out every 28 days and do the 28 day shuffle, even though my neighbor has stayed there for four years without checking out. The manager demands extra money after you've paid online, and threatens to call the cops if you don't leave. They rent rooms by the hour, too. This is rude, and they need to be fined.

The owners are really nice, and nobody bothers you. Rooms are low budget, but it's a motel, so that's what you'd expect. You get free private parking and vending machine drinks for a dollar. It's quiet and mellow most of the time, apart from guys blasting their car stereos at all hours.
