Casa Del Mar Longboat Key

We were a big group at Casa Del Mar, and the room was great, very clean, with excellent air conditioning in unit C10. The property itself is nice, and we had a good time mostly because of the people we were with. The office team, including manager Kayla, were professional, as was the beach staff. Security was the main problem. One night around 9:20-9:25 PM, a group of us were quietly together in one unit. The guard said quiet hours started at 10, and we told him we'd follow them as we had every night. Still, security came by repeatedly to complain about noise. The guard then stood outside our room shining a flashlight through the sliding glass doors and warned he'd call the sheriff if he had to return. It felt intimidating and unnecessary when it was still before quiet hours and we were cooperating. Staff also seemed very tense about enforcing rules that didn't seem to apply. We were told we couldn't put up a tent on the beach, though the county property appraiser map appeared to show the property didn't own that beach area. They can ask guests not to do it, but the way it was handled felt excessive. That approach from staff and security took away from the stay.
