Sea Club I Beach Resort

The service at Sea Club is excellent. Lisa at the front desk is superb at her job, always friendly, and very willing to share information about the surrounding area. If there’s a problem with your unit, it’s handled right away. I can’t say enough about the service. My wife and I have stayed here several times. The location on the Gulf beaches of Longboat Key, Florida, is outstanding, across the street from Bayfront public park. The rooms are somewhat dated, though some have been modernized, and some have water views.

We’ve made this our place to stay each year, and this was our third year. We love the location, pool, and easy access to the beach. Everyone is friendly, and it feels like family. This time we stayed in unit 27, with an amazing beach view from the porch. The only downside was the lack of storage, especially in the kitchen. We’ll be back!

I rarely write reviews, but our stay in Room 20 at Seaclub1 Resort was bad enough that I feel I should warn people. From the moment we entered, it smelled strongly of mildew and neglect, and it felt like basic cleaning had been skipped. Dust was caked on surfaces, as if they’d never been wiped. There was black mold around the air-conditioning vents, which made it hard to breathe and felt like a serious health concern. The linens were stained and looked as though they hadn’t been changed for weeks or longer. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d simply remade the bed from the last guest without washing the sheets. Worst of all, I woke up covered in bug bites, likely from bed bugs. Completely unacceptable and disturbing. For what we paid, it felt like a complete scam. The room seemed more like an abandoned storage unit than resort accommodation. Avoid Room 20, and maybe the whole property unless they do a serious overhaul. Zero stars if I could.

The view from Sea Club 1 is stellar, and the pool is great. Laundry is easy to get to, and management has been phenomenal. Unit 21 had what we needed for our family, though I did wish the bathroom had been cleaner. With our two kids, that wasn't enough to spoil the stay. This was visit number four for us, and we’ll definitely be back.
