The hotel was in good shape and perfectly placed for my meeting at the Comerica Building, which was easy to reach on foot. The restaurant was just passable. My chicken Caesar salad had heavy, mayonnaise-based dressing with no real anchovies, and the grilled chicken seemed prepackaged and just heated up. One front desk clerk made the stay especially unpleasant. I’d booked two king rooms through a third party, choosing only bed size and rate, not specific rooms. I arrived an hour early and nobody asked what kind of room I wanted. Mine was right beside the elevator shaft, and I could hear it all night. With only one night left, I went to mention that the room wasn’t satisfactory. The woman at the desk, an Asian woman, jumped in before I could finish and said I’d picked it. When I said I hadn’t, she said she’d prove it and pulled out a building diagram. I then explained I’d booked through a third party, but she kept insisting the website said I’d chosen that room. The site I used hadn’t offered a room choice, and I never got the chance to select one. She seemed focused on proving herself right and scolding me, rather than listening. I only wanted her to acknowledge that the room was less than ideal, but I felt attacked. As I left, I told her she simply had the wrong answer. My business partner’s other room didn’t share a wall with the elevator. I suspect I got the room that was available because I checked in an hour early. That explanation would have been fine, but blaming me for knowingly choosing the room when I hadn’t was poor form. Nobody should be treated that way, especially a gold Bonvoy member. I’m disappointed in Marriott and won’t stay here again.

The staff were nice, and there was a nice guy in the restaurant. Beyond that, I dread the next 4 days I’m stuck here because of the parking situation. I wouldn’t come back. Traffic noise was awful, and I didn’t sleep at all, also being right next to the elevator didn’t help. I know the traffic isn’t the hotel’s fault. My first room smelled like fish, so they moved me. This place feels like a rip-off. They charge paying guests to park, and put $50 a day on your card for things you don’t use, then expect you to wait for it to be refunded. Holding a card in case someone trashes a room makes sense, but charging for nothing used is BS. Parking is the biggest issue. It’s wrong to make guests pay to park.

A dependable hotel for a 3 day work trip, and really convenient for getting to or from either BUR or LAX. The staff were outstanding, especially at the front desk. I have a strange fondness for watching LA traffic, horrifying but mesmerizing, and asked for a room with a freeway view. Josh was very kind and thoughtful in trying to make that happen. Samantha and Louis were just as friendly and pleasant during checkout. It took longer than expected for the shower to heat up, but the staff’s kindness, professionalism, and service are what will bring me back on future work trips. Thanks again to Josh, Samantha, and Louis.

I’ll definitely be back. The hotel was clean and spacious, and they were able to park my box truck in their lot, which was a big plus. I had the gym to myself both evening and morning. The concierge was amazing throughout the day, and I could tell they’d been carefully selected. Bri, the young woman who welcomed me, had a smile that lit up the room and made me feel at home. I didn’t catch the security guard’s name, but he was helpful and polite too.

My first review didn’t go through, so I’m glad to post it again. This was one of the quietest hotels I’ve stayed in, and it made the visit really relaxing. Though it’s tucked near the 101 and 405, the Courtyard felt like a calm little escape in busy Los Angeles. Stays like this are why Marriott remains my go-to for business and leisure.
