Friendship Motor Inn

I picked Friendship Motor Inn for one night because it had the best price for its reviews, and was pleasantly surprised. The place is clean, smells good, and is well maintained. It’s family-run by very sweet, attentive people. I was a little apprehensive, as I often am with Los Angeles motels, but it turned out to be excellent value. Highly recommended, and I’ll be back when I’m in town to see my kids.

The room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned and was very dirty. It was also so noisy after 1 a.m. that we couldn’t sleep. We wanted to cancel because staying there was impossible, but the manager and staff were unwilling to help or resolve anything. They were extremely unhelpful and charged me for nights I didn’t stay. Stay away from this place!

Not fancy, but this cute little inn had the basics, a clean, tidy room, and amazing front desk service. It was definitely worth the price. The neighborhood feels a little sketchy, but it’s a cheap, well-placed base for driving or taking an Uber to WeHo or Koreatown. We’d stay again. Also, try some of their local food suggestions: we walked to a breakfast spot they recommended, and it was amazing.

The rooms are clean and have partly renovated floors, though the place still feels pretty worn. I didn’t need to deal with staff after checking in, which was fine. I’d seen glowing reviews elsewhere and decent ones on Google, so maybe I expected more. My main concern about coming back is the noise: it’s on a busy street, and the area can feel a bit rough. There was screaming in the parking lot and car alarms on my first night, so it wasn’t very restful.
