Hilton Garden Inn LAX Los Angeles Airport Hotel

The restaurant didn’t have wine or vodka available when I visited, which was a bit disappointing. Juan, the bartender, more than made up for it with his friendly, attentive manner and great drinks. He convinced me to stay, and I’m glad he did. The front desk team were also welcoming and helpful from check-in, setting a great tone for my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Juan recommended some excellent items from the restaurant menu, and his drinks were seriously good. Jaime, the manager, checked on us a couple of times, which made the stay feel personal. Jose at the front desk was especially helpful and friendly, and the whole staff made us feel welcome. The Hilton Garden Inn was clean and nice, with plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Great food and service, and I’ll definitely come back. Thanks, Juan and Jaime!

The room and lobby were nice, and the location worked well for our cruise from Long Beach the next morning. We skipped the expensive breakfast buffet and walked next door to McDonald’s instead. Still, I wouldn’t stay here again because the airport shuttle was a disaster. We arrived around 10 AM and had no trouble getting the shuttle. Later, my wife’s parents landed around 8 PM, and we returned to the airport to help them get to the hotel. My father-in-law uses a walker and a wheelchair. We waited two hours, mostly at Terminal 3, where buses were already full when they reached us. We saw only one or two an hour. I called the hotel several times for help, but either no one answered or nothing came of it. One bus also served offsite parking, so it wasn’t just Hilton Garden Inn passengers. We considered riding to a nearby hotel and walking, but my in-laws couldn’t manage that. In the end, we took LAexit down to the lower floor, caught a bus to a taxi stand, then took a two-minute taxi ride to the hotel. The manager on duty gave several excuses when I raised it and promised to call after looking into it, but never did. The employees who answered our calls that night said we should tell the manager it was an ongoing problem. The hotel’s free shuttle was a horrible experience, even though it was a convenient location for our cruise.

The shuttle was the big problem for me. I waited outside the airport nearly an hour and watched two of this hotel’s shuttles drive right by without stopping. After I called and asked someone to radio another shuttle, one finally came. The voicemail says there’s service every 30 minutes, so the wait was really inconvenient. The room was clean and well prepared, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my time there, but won’t stay again.
