The room was tiny and very dated, and the bathroom felt dirty. The tap wasn’t properly attached, and the bedsheets weren’t put on right. Three stars feels generous. Parking was fine, but nobody helped me carry my suitcases up or down the stairs. The gym and sauna were overcrowded every time I went, and one day I couldn’t get into the sauna at all. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

My first visit to the club left me impressed the whole way through. The hotel is elegant and comfortable, and one of the best I’ve stayed in. The athletic facilities have everything you could want for a good workout, and the rooms, service, and welcoming atmosphere exceeded my expectations. The rates were surprisingly affordable for the quality. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and professional. Easy to recommend.

The gym has lots of room and weights, including full squat racks and weights up to 100 pounds. The sauna and steam room are top quality, and the rooms are nice with a sense of heritage. One night, we got back at 1 a.m. and couldn’t get into the hotel. We pressed the ringer and waited 15 minutes, but the door only opened when another guest came down to collect their DoorDash order and let us in.

On my recent LA work trip, I was impressed by the attentive service, thoughtful amenities, and elegant décor. I had a quiet room tucked away in a corner, though colleagues said street noise disturbed their sleep in other parts of the building. I ate on site several times, including once during a comedy night with a $10 cover. Each meal and experience was enjoyable and consistently well done. Some parts of the hotel seemed to be under renovation, which might explain why some rooms and a few elevators felt more updated than others.
