Hollywood City Inn

For what I paid, the rooms were better than I expected: very clean, no bugs, quiet overall, and with a nice shower and microwave. This isn’t a fancy hotel with chocolate on the pillows, but I stayed a couple of days while working down the street at the palladium, and it was more than nice enough. The real standout was the staff. The man who checked us in was genuinely kind and helpful. He suggested booking online because it was cheaper, didn’t give us a hard time or make us wait, and we had keys two minutes after booking. The delay was just me filling out the vehicle info. Big thanks to him, I really appreciated his kindness.

The location is awesome for Hollywood, Griffin park, and getting around to what Los Angeles has to offer. The property and rooms were very clean, the staff were great, and the pool was perfect for a late afternoon dip.

We were told extra blankets would be brought to the first room, but they never showed up, and its AC didn’t work. The room wasn’t clean either. Strong spray seemed to be covering urine and mold smells. The floors were sticky and dirty, there was blood on the shower walls, and the windows had mold. When we asked the manager for another room, he said nothing else was available until the next day. I asked why we’d been put in the only room left when we’d paid in full and in advance. There was no internet, and the rooms don’t look like the website pictures.

I wanted somewhere cheap, and that’s what I got, so I can’t really complain about the flies and other little bugs all over the room. My son found a cockroach in his shoe when he put it on in the morning, lol. The room smelled like weed, too. Still, it was close to my workplace, the shower was good, and the AC worked. For the price, it was what I expected.
