Libra Hotel

At night it was quiet, though the room felt a little dark. The soundproofing was poor enough that I could hear the neighbors talking clearly, even tell what country they were speaking. The double bed felt somewhat small, and I had to carry my luggage upstairs. There was a fan and microwave in the room, which made warming food convenient. The bathroom faucet couldn't be taken off for rinsing and sprayed water everywhere.

There's a bus terminal right across the street, with buses going downtown or to Santa Monica, and lots of Korean restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The rooms are simple and private. The bed was okay, not great, but I slept fine. Walls are thin, though my neighbor turned the loud TV off at a reasonable time. Towels and sheets were decent, the room was spacious, and there was hot water and an AC/heater unit. I'd stay again.

There wasn't any hot water for a shower, and no blankets were provided, so my friends and I used the sheets instead. I also got mites or bugs here, and the bites itched for weeks all over my body. I had to wash and disinfect everything. There was no receptionist either.

This was my second visit. The first time I stayed one night, and this time I was there for three. It's a reasonable choice if you just need a clean, basic room near transit and places to eat. I mostly used the room to sleep, shower, and eat. They offered free Wi-Fi, but I had mobile data, so I can't comment on it. I had no trouble with the AC, and it kept the room cool. It was warm during my stay, so the thin blankets were fine, and there was another blanket and pillow in the closet. The room fridge kept my food and drinks cold, though there was no kettle in the room. The shared kitchen had a kettle, microwave, and fridge with freezer. I think it was open 8am-8pm, with quiet hours from 11pm-7am. The bathroom had a towel rack and shelf for clothes and towels, which was useful. There wasn't much sink counter space, but there was a medicine cabinet behind the mirror for toiletries. The entry had a shoe rack and slippers. Sound didn't stay in the room well. Noise from neighbors and outside traffic came through, especially if your room faces West 6th St. Light sleepers might have a rough time, so bring earplugs.
