The Anderson Estates

I've stayed here twice for about a week each time and have two more visits planned before my project wraps up. It feels homey, the kitchen is great, people are friendly, and I even got free dinner here twice. Laundry is free, parking was easy to find just yards away, and the towels are amazing. WiFi can be spotty, though. The guest house is best for it. I was moved a couple of times, but they apologized and put me in a room with just one other person. There's a hostel cat wandering around, so if you like cats, bring her a treat bag. The doors stay open 24/7 and there are no lockers, so I used locked luggage and kept my valuables with me. I never had a security problem. I've already recommended the hostel to friends coming to LA this summer.

I liked that the guest house was historic, but the cleanliness wasn't great. I booked 6 nights and left after 3 because I couldn't deal with the low quality. Other guests seemed sick or contagious, and stray animals came in and out. The place needs to be more professional, renovated, and properly cleaned. They also shouldn't mix halfway house residents with other residents. Thanks for the stay, God bless.

A few days after a woman who helps show people the facility and rooms gave me a blanket, she got angry because I moved her clothes to a safer spot while I checked the dryer. She'd been nice at first, then mean, and I don't like being around two-faced people. After that incident with her, the owner wouldn't let me extend my stay. It always seems women have too much clout.

The Anderson Estates was clean and put together well, and having a pool was much needed in the LA heat. They also serve breakfast every morning. The people at the hostel were welcoming and friendly. We could walk to the train, and the location was close to pretty much everything we wanted to do on our trip. I had a great stay and would recommend The Anderson Estates to anyone visiting LA.
