The Hollywood Franklin Hotel near Universal Studios

Our family had such a fun one-night stay. The pool was wonderful, and the room was clean, cozy, and full of funky charm and homey touches. The interesting decor and location felt safe, too. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the charming valet and room attendant to the front desk team, who went above and beyond to return something we'd left behind. We hope we can come back someday!

The retro look caught me by surprise when I checked in. Both the lobby and rooms feel cozy and charming, and after dark the pool area looks lovely with its star-pattern lights. There's an adjoining door to the diner next door, so you can get there without stepping outside. The area is nice enough, though, that I took the longer walking route more than once.

Just what I needed. The rooms are huge, the staff are friendly, and there's laundry for $5, including wash, dry, and detergent. Finally, tea and coffee making facilities! There's also a great bar and diner downstairs, and the location is good. Rooms facing the road may be noisy, so ask for a Hollywood view room.

I've stayed here lots of times and always enjoy it. The place is clean and friendly, with a funky, chic Hollywood feel. It's in a great spot, an easy walk around lovely Franklin Village, and feels safe with many Hollywood attractions close by. The Clarke Street Diner downstairs is wonderful. It's my go-to in LA, and I highly recommend the hotel!
