Decent location, and the rooms are small but updated. That’s about it. There was no fridge, coffee maker, gym, ice machine, or guest minibar for snacks. The internet was down, so the TV didn’t work either. You get more at a Motel 6. I won’t stay here again, and may switch to Marriott for business travel.

The hotel’s in a great spot downtown, close to the metro, restaurants, and shops, so getting around without a car was easy. It’s a small boutique place, intimate and stylish, with a cozy, welcoming feel. The staff were so friendly and did their best to make me comfortable. My room was small but well designed, clean, modern, and had everything I needed. I especially appreciated the earplugs by the bed and the note explaining that the lively neighborhood means they can’t always promise complete quiet. I didn’t need to use them, though the first night was a bit noisy. It could make a difference for light sleepers. There’s a café downstairs with good coffee and pastries for breakfast or an afternoon break. The rooftop bar has a relaxed vibe, lovely city views, and delicious cocktails, a nice place to unwind after exploring LA. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to visitors who value comfort, thoughtful details, and some local character.

We woke up to bed bugs in the room the morning after we arrived. The hotel’s engineer confirmed the problem when we contacted them, and we sent photos of the bugs and bloodstains on the sheets. It was clear the sheets hadn’t been changed before we got there. We’d also emailed to ask about incidental charges, as instructed, but never got a reply. We left right away. The hotel paid the laundry fee for the clothes we’d had under the bed, which was the one small positive. Staff said they’d handle a refund through Agoda, but five days later, when I called, I was told the hotel hadn’t submitted a request. Agoda tried to call the hotel for 20 minutes without an answer and was told to email instead. Thirty minutes later Agoda emailed to confirm the refund, which showed the hotel hadn’t contacted them. A terrible experience. I’d never recommend or stay here again. Given how badly they handled everything, it’s hard to believe they’re associated with Hilton.

Getting around was easy, with the Metro station just a four-minute walk away. It took about an hour by Metro to reach LAX and Universal Studios Hollywood. The room was clean and matched the website description. Staff were friendly and superb, let us check in early because the room was ready, and gave us an extra hour at checkout. Highly recommend.
