Vagabond Inn Los Angeles at USC

The rooms have been updated, but that doesn't make up for the lack of hot water, broken TV remotes, and awful service. This place was terrible. Save your time and money.

The location was great, and the front desk staff were genuinely friendly. I wish I’d liked the stay more, but the room I got was the problem. The carpet felt sticky and dirty, there seemed to be a drain issue near the bathroom, and the bed was much too soft and airy. People were filming upstairs and making noise all night. I stayed awake dealing with it until I turned on the AC to drown them out. It’s loud enough to do that. Maybe other guests get better rooms and have a better experience than I did.

A clean, comfortable budget option for this area, though my room still wasn't ready at 7 pm even though I was only staying one night. They said they had to put me in a smaller room but were still charging the same price. The front desk worker was very nice, later gave me a discount, and let me leave my car in the lot the next day. Great service, but otherwise it’s a basic budget motel.

We spent three nights here and found it quiet and clean, with a fair price. The desk staff were helpful and nice, and being near USC meant plenty of inexpensive places to eat nearby. It’s dog friendly too, which was a big deal for us this trip. Our two queen room was roomy; the king room was smaller, though still big enough. A good economical option within reasonable distance of downtown LA and Hollywood.
