W Hollywood

The room was lovely, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The gym and shared spaces were clean and looked after, while the lounge, outdoor patio, and small restaurant felt cozy and thoughtfully laid out. The location worked well too, with lots nearby, including Trader Joes. What really made the stay was how welcoming everyone was. The front door staff always greeted us with a smile, and the front desk was flexible enough to give us a 2:00 pm late checkout before our evening flight to Canada. Every request got a cheerful yes. The restaurant team was kind and efficient, and each meal was excellent. We were glad we used the $25 per day food and beverage credit, since it gave the staff a chance to get to know us. I'd happily stay again.

We met colleagues casually for business at the W, and the lobby and bar lounge were beautifully arranged and well kept, with plenty of seats. The valet attendants were friendly and courteous, even with my nearly 20-year-old car that's seen better days. Drinks were the one weak spot. We sat at a table near the bar, waited more than 10 minutes for someone to take our order, and had already tried going up to the bar ourselves. The drinks took longer than expected to arrive, and ordering and getting a second round took even longer. Everyone was pleasant and friendly, but they seemed short-staffed. A couple more people in that area might help. I'd come back for the atmosphere and location, and hope the drink service is better next time.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. My necklace and earrings were stolen from my room. I was also surprised to be charged a daily “resort” fee while traveling for business to a paid event, even though I didn't use any of the included offers.

Micaela welcomed me as soon as I walked in with such a warm smile. She was wonderful at making me feel comfortable, and knew a lot about gluten-free restaurants nearby. That's real hospitality. The hotel itself was beautiful, my room was amazing, and I enjoyed the drinks and food at the bar. I'm looking forward to coming back.
