Wilshire Orange Hotel

The room smelled like urine, and the sheets were dirty and stained. There were no curtains, the electrics were bad, and a wasp nest outside the window led into the building. The bathroom was old and smelled musty. The website said there’d be air conditioning and parking, but there wasn’t, so we paid for parking and had to buy our own sheets, pillowcases, cups, plates, cutlery, air freshener, and soap. The maid only came every second or third day. Do not enter.

I wish I could give it zero stars. It felt abandoned, with an empty reception most of the time, so it seemed like no one could help quickly if something happened. And calling it a hotel seems wrong, since the word “hotel” isn’t on the front. I looked at two rooms. Both were horrible and dusty, with a urine smell. One had a huge, weak window facing the street that anyone could break. The other had several exposed broken wires and seemed extremely dangerous. I had to leave, even though I paid an expensive cancellation fee. Please don’t come here.

After watching the last episode of season 1 of Silicon Valley, I was excited to stay here. The hotel bar was nice, and the stay itself was pleasant, though the rooms and decor felt dated. It wouldn’t be my first hotel choice, but I had a pleasant visit.

The room was filthy when I checked in, absolutely disgusting. There was someone else’s hair in the bathroom, and the toilet smelled like piss and had hair on it. The guy tried to charge me more than we’d agreed, not once but twice. Don’t come here under any circumstances. You’d be better off on the street. -10/10
