Baymont by Wyndham Louisville East

Absolutely horrendous, 0/10. When I arrived around 4pm, there was nobody there to check me in, so I had to call someone down. My room had no fire alarm. It had been ripped out of the wall, leaving wires exposed. There was dried silly string all over the headboard, so the room clearly hadn't been cleaned. The bed was broken down with a huge dent that hurt my back, and there was no hot water at the property, so I couldn't take a bath. Whenever I tried to speak with the front desk staff, nobody was there. I know it was a cheap hotel, but I still deserved better for my money. I'm pretty sure not having hot water is illegal in Kentucky.

The property is well maintained, well lit, and has great parking, an elevator, and dumb waiters at the ready. Breakfast is standard continental fare: coffee ☕, juice, Waffle's, toast, and various cereals. The staff were friendly, helpful, and mostly down-to-earth genuine folks. I'd recommend it to business travelers and tourists traveling with family.

The location didn't match the quality of the hotel. I got no room cleaning during the whole week, and the bed linens felt thin and cheap. The laminate flooring was awful, and the rooms look like a teenager tried to remodel with zero adult guidance. The laundry machines didn't work, so I had to wring out my clothes. Staff or management ignored a big diesel truck left running for six hours, stinking up the place and my room. When I first drove in after dark, I hit a metal grate right in the middle of the entrance that I couldn't see and damaged the front end of my 2017 Ford escape. Some marking paint could have saved me several hundred dollars in repairs. The lot was very dark and uninviting, apart from the deep blue spotlights on the building. You can see the trajectory, then crash hard into the metal drain you can't see coming in. Perhaps that's why Ken towery has a store up the road.

Pay extra and stay somewhere else. This place needs a remodel, and it was the nastiest place we've ever stayed. There was no housekeeping, the towels were filthy, and some looked like they had blood stains. As we were carrying our things in, I set down a drink to open the door, and it was gone when I went back for it. There was something on the wall that looked like either feces or bug spallter, though I'm not sure which. I've seen better cheap motels.
