Best Western Premier Airport/Expo Center Hotel

I’d been at the hotel for three days and had only had one guest over. I had a room with two beds, so I understood that I was allowed one guest. Still, the hotel called the police over this and threatened to break into my room. I stayed calm, polite, and respectful throughout, mostly keeping to myself. I refused to answer the door when they came, because while I was showering, a man and a woman threatened to force their way in. I didn’t feel safe or comfortable, and felt deeply disrespected. They also tried to put me out without refunding me, even though I hadn’t done anything wrong. I recorded the conversation when I asked why I was being removed. The woman replied, “you know,” and I sincerely said I didn’t know. I want the manager’s name and an explanation for why the police were called. I intend to pursue legal action and will update this review as things progress. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this treatment left me hurt, humiliated, embarrassed, and traumatized. I don’t know if I can recover from it, and I’ll need counseling. I’m writing this for legal purposes.

The staff made the stay feel welcoming every time we came back. Someone at the desk would say hello or ask how things were going, and everyone was friendly and helpful. We had several projects nearby, with quite a few of our guys staying here over a stretch of time. The rooms were consistently nice and well serviced. Breakfast was warm and fresh with plenty to pick from, though it got repetitive during my longer stay. The location worked well for us, with good lighting and lots of places to grab food. I’d recommend the pizza place across the street or either of the two little bars within a seven-minute walk, both had great food and atmosphere. Just bring your belongings inside. It only takes a minute for something to go missing from a truck bed, toolbox, or maybe saddle bags. I’d definitely stay again.

Breakfast was the standout, honestly the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. The room was clean, stocked with everything, and had no odd smells. The AC kept it cold. The water pressure was a little low but still okay. The beds are firm, and I’ve slept more comfortably elsewhere. The pillows didn’t help much.

The staff are what would bring me back. The front desk folks greeted us every day and helped whenever we needed anything, and the breakfast crew were great too. The breakfast space was clean, the food came out hot and tasted good, and they had something different each day. We were in Louisville for a music festival, and the hotel even set aside one side of the lot for festival guests, which was thoughtful. The staff made the stay worthwhile, and I’d stay again. The room was clean and a decent size. Beds were very firm, but bathroom pressure was good. The tub drained slowly and the toilet was really loud when flushed. My friend in another room got brown water during a hot shower, though it cleared after running for a few minutes. We were there five days. The check-in sheet said housekeeping would clean rooms after four or more days, but they never came, even after we removed the Do Not Disturb sign after the first two days. We asked the desk for a trash bag once our bins filled up because we didn’t want to leave the room trashed. The hotel is convenient for the Kentucky Expo Center. Reviews had made me nervous about the area, but it didn’t seem that bad. It felt like any city where you need to watch your surroundings. The parking lines are so faded that people were taking up two spaces without realizing it. That was the lot’s only real drawback.
