TownePlace Suites by Marriott Louisville Airport

The carpet strip in the walkway had exposed nails, a serious hazard, especially with our two-year-old along. The staff weren’t helpful, offered nothing for the trouble, and didn’t help us find somewhere else to stay. We left a night early. The AC never cooled the room below 78, even though it was 67 outside and the thermostat was set to 68. They gave us a box fan. A room change was offered that afternoon, but we were at a wedding. When we called that evening, suddenly there were no rooms left, so someone else would be stuck with that hot, unusable room. Very disappointing for a Marriott. Unsafe room, no AC, and no help. We won’t be back.

The hotel itself is fine, but we had a problem during our stay and asked the manager to check the cameras so we could properly file a police report. They refused to look or help in any way. We encountered more headaches than the stay was worth. New hotels are being built nearby, and hopefully they’ll be a better option if you’re looking in the area. If decent customer service matters to you, this isn’t the place.

The hotel was nice and the rooms were clean, but someone in my party left his wallet at the desk by accident. About ten minutes later, the desk called his room to say it had been left there. When he picked it up, all the cash was gone. The receptionist seemed very suspicious and wouldn’t work with him to figure out who might have taken it.

The only working entrance made us walk through a cloud of smoke, even though the hotel sign says it’s smoke-free. There’s a sign saying you can use your room key at the side door, but that’s not true. The card reader is disabled. Outside, the place smells awful, like a dump, and you have to pass through the smoking area to get to the front door.
