Baymont by Wyndham Lubbock - Downtown Civic Center

The rooms look nothing like the pictures. I killed a cockroach, then woke up freezing because the heater wouldn't work. It was too cold to shower, and there wasn't a TV remote. The wind came through the gaps between the door and its frame, but at least I could get out of the cold wind. You'd think they'd compensate you, but they didn't.

The room smelled so strongly of cigarettes and urine that breathing comfortably was nearly impossible. The carpet was sticky and foul smelling, the walls were stained, and the chair looked like something picked up from the street, stained and unusable. The sheets had visible blood stains, and we were given just two pillows for the whole stay. None of the lights worked, and the door lock was completely missing, which made us feel extremely unsafe. The room was filthy from the moment we arrived, and my whole family felt sick just being in it. This went beyond a bad stay and felt like a health hazard. The place is unfit for guests and should be shut down by the health department. Don't stay here under any circumstances.

We booked through Priceline and had no idea how bad the property was. The online pictures are completely misleading. It was Family Weekend in Lubbock, TX, so nearly every hotel was booked, but we refused to stay even with no other options. That's how bad it was. The comforter had holes, the floors were filthy, the carpet had holes, and the shower was disgusting. I didn't want to touch anything and was genuinely afraid of what I might catch. I went straight back to the office for a refund, where another couple was asking for one too. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. Save your money and don't book there.

In the first room, the TV, heater, and lamps didn't work, and there were no towels. They moved us after we complained, but the second room hadn't been vacuumed and its heater still didn't work. We were killing roaches, it smelled horrible, and there was no toilet paper. This was by far the worst motel experience I've ever had.
