Quality Inn Lynchburg near University

We came for my husband’s birthday over the weekend (5/22-5/24), and quickly regretted it. The front desk staff were the one bright spot: very nice and accommodating. The room looked okay at first, but the bed was clearly just made up without the sheets being changed. There were stains, crumbs, and what looked like spice and pubic hairs in the bedding, and more hairs and spice in the shower and toilet. The floors had stains and crumbs in almost every corner. I didn’t feel comfortable putting our things down. We asked for another room, and the front desk kindly helped, but it didn’t seem any better, so we stayed in our original room. I’m a professional housekeeper, so I went to the nearest Walmart for clean sheets, a comforter, pillows, and cleaning supplies, and cleaned to make the room at least sanitary. The two mattress covers, comforter, and pillows were covered in bodily fluids, so I refused to use them and stripped the bed completely. The old boxspring mattress creaked a lot and was super uncomfortable. After I wiped the floors with Lysol wipes and sprayed bleach around the bathroom, the room was acceptable, but we checked out a day early because of the bed and went home to be comfortable. The housekeeper needs to do more than the bare minimum, and rooms need inspection before guests check in. There’s no excuse for this, and it reflects the whole management process, or lack of one. Do better, Quality Inn, and live up to your name!
