We’ve come back many times over the years, and it remains one of our favorite spots on the island. The food is among the best there, worth a visit on its own, though I’d suggest staying a few nights to enjoy the place properly. There are comfortable spots to relax inside and out, whether you’re with friends or by yourself. It has historic charm and feels thoughtfully designed and well cared for. The setting is scenic and quiet, right where the island road begins winding along the water, yet everything is a short walk or bike ride away. Just what we want for a getaway.

The only real drawback was waiting for taxis and shuttles. A shuttle every 30 minutes would take transportation from a 7/10 to a 10/10. The Lakeside Spa, though, is worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and book it, absolutely divine. From arrival through departure, we loved every minute and the service went well beyond what we expected. Everyone we met was kind, attentive, and clearly cared about making the stay memorable. Both front desk shifts were professional, warm, and ready to help with a smile. The bar area has a welcoming feel, and George had our drinks ready in under five minutes each time. We had a beautiful stay and are already looking forward to coming back next year.

The hotel is large but still feels cozy and intimate. The rooms were comfortable, the beds and pillows just right, and housekeeping was spectacular. Our room was a little too warm, but the small AC did its job fine. I’ve read some negative reviews, and to me many sound like user error. Next time I’m going to try the salon. Highly recommend, just fabulous. It’s on the east side of the island, away from downtown crowds, with breathtaking views. The staff were top notch, helpful, friendly, and available.

We never felt we needed anything. The gentle, gracious, well-organized service made the trip everything we hoped for. Pat at the concierge desk always makes us feel like we’re coming home, and Tamika in guest services handles every question with professional, personable coordination. One of the food service managers brought our meals one night and was so welcoming to us and our dog. We’ve stayed at Mission Point for more than a decade, and this visit impressed us all over again. The teams at Round Island Kitchen, Boxwood, and the front desk were outstanding. The food on site is consistently good. We loved the Boxwood pastries and coffee, the Chicken Pomodoro and New York Strip at Round Island Kitchen, and the Chicken and Dumpling soup on a cool night. The rooms were spotless and well maintained. In the Straits Lodge, you wouldn’t know the rooms are pet-friendly unless you happened to see a dog in the corridor. Please keep doing what you’re doing. We’re so grateful!
