Homewood Suites by Hilton Macon-North

For a quick overnight stop, the place worked out, and we’d stay again if we had to. I’d have been very disappointed if we’d planned to spend a week there. We were told the hotel was being remodeled, but apparently our room hadn’t been done yet. It was worn but clean, the sink cabinet was missing, and several bathroom tiles were cracked. The room also seemed a bit overpriced. The main concern in the room was that the door latch wouldn’t hold it shut, so we had to use the deadbolt all the time. Breakfast was a big letdown, with the food cooked or heated poorly. I think that was down to the prepared food they were serving, rather than the staff doing their best with what they had. Just so you know, there are no waffles. They were also running 20-30 minutes behind, so we grabbed a few basic snacks and got drive-thru breakfast later on the road. The stay wasn’t enjoyable, but it was workable as a quick pit stop.

The location worked perfectly for us, right across from Bass Pro Shops, and it was quiet all night with no banging around. The newly remodeled room was spacious, very clean, and excellent. I’ll stay again next time I’m in Macon.

We used the grill by the pool and thought it was a nice option instead of eating out every night. The hotel is clean and has good amenities, though the rooms could use an update.

The service was great, and the rooms were welcoming, clean, and comfortable. It’s close to anything you might need while heading to your next stop. I’ll stay here again on my way back to Florida.
