Residence Inn by Marriott Macon

The gentleman at the front desk is great and should look for a different job. One of the women at the desk was rude, and the coffee is awful. I’ve spent three week-long work stays here, and it’s been the dirtiest, loudest place I’ve stayed: dirty towels, bathrooms, microwaves, and curtains, water-damaged floors, and roaches. The walls are paper-thin. You hear the interstate, other guests talking and snoring, and can even smell what they’re having for dinner. I have two weeks left, but I’m changing locations because the towels were dirty on two separate occasions. This isn’t a one-time mistake.

The kitchen made a big difference during my longer stay, and having a hot breakfast every morning was a great bonus. I’ve stayed at plenty of extended-stay hotels, and this one stands out for how clean everything was and how attentive the staff were.

The rooms were spacious and clean. It’s an older Residence Inn, but it’s kept up well and could use a renovation. The staff provided great service, especially the front desk agents Tina and Jielconds (sorry if misspelled), who were both friendly, professional, and helpful.

The HVAC was loud as it struggled to push out humid air, the floors were dirty, and the doors were broken, as if they’d been through an earthquake or kicked in. Best advice is not to look too closely, or you may find more than you want to.
