Rodeway Inn & Suites

We came to get away from the hurricane, but the room I’d reserved was given to someone else on a first-come, first-served basis. I’d booked a smoking room with a kitchen and ended up in a nonsmoking room without one. The TV didn’t work, and although they tried another remote and said they were looking for another box, it was almost 3 a.m. and still no TV. The room phone was dead too. I complained to Choice, and they called the office about my reservation. The gentleman told them they’d find me another room, but when I went downstairs about the TV, he said there wouldn’t be another room in the morning and asked if I wanted a refund. There were no rooms available at other hotels nearby. I wouldn’t recommend this place. They seem interested only in the money. If you take a reservation, you shouldn’t give that room to someone else.

I was there on May 1st and stayed only about three hours. The room cost $83, and I should’ve known when there was no breakfast or even coffee in the morning. I asked for a refund but still haven’t received anything. I’d never spend another minute here.

Traveling with our two dogs, we really needed a place that would take them, so that was a big plus. The room itself was okay, but I saw dirt on the sheets and didn’t think they were fresh. The bathroom had only been surface-cleaned, with dirt embedded in the corners of the floor. I’m not a clean freak, but the sheets bothered me. Some of the other guests seemed sketchy, and I was afraid to take the dogs outside. I didn’t feel safe. I’m not saying that was the hotel’s fault, but I’d pick somewhere else if I passed through again.

We paid $85, which was way too much for a room that needed a deep clean and fresh paint. The blankets were filthy and had cigarette burns, though the refrigerator, towels, sheets, and pillowcases were clean. The ad was misleading: there was no continental breakfast, no coffee in the lobby in the morning, and no coffee or hair dryer in the room. The ice machine didn’t work and looked too nasty to use anyway. There was only one TV channel. Plenty of other hotels are nearby for a little more money.
