Hampton Inn Detroit/Madison Heights/South Troy

Kara especially went out of her way to be gracious, and the hotel staff added a lot to our time with family. My husband and I stayed August 23rd and the 25th while relatives were in town. The rooms were clean and breakfast was tasty. Thanks for another great Hilton experience.

Roneka made planning our company collaboration event smooth and easy. She helped make sure we had what we needed for the meeting and went out of her way to assist our foreign guests with reservation changes. She was genuinely helpful throughout. I didn’t stay at the hotel, but I visited two rooms. They were clean and comfortable with adequate amenities, though not fancy. Everyone on staff we met was gracious, friendly, and helpful. There’s a great restaurant across the street, Madhouse Grill, and plenty of local restaurants that deliver. The hotel is about to have a major renovation, so depending on when you call, it may be underway or the experience may be even better than ours.

My week at this Hampton Inn started out well. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly when I arrived, and breakfast was decent. I was beginning to think I’d return on future work trips, but the last night changed that. At 1:00 AM, shouting and screaming just outside my room woke me up. It turned into a physical fight that went on for a full hour. I called the front desk and urged them to contact the police, but they seemed indifferent. The disturbance kept going, and I was scared for my safety and couldn’t sleep. When I spoke with the front desk the next morning, they didn’t apologize or acknowledge how upsetting it had been. They acted as though it was no big deal and casually said they’d received several calls from our floor. That’s unacceptable for any hotel, especially one under the Hilton brand. I also contacted Hilton customer service, waited on hold for 19 minutes, then hung up in frustration. Guest safety and satisfaction clearly don’t seem to be priorities here. I won’t return to this Hampton Inn, and I’ll actively discourage people I know from staying. No one should feel unsafe while traveling. Save your money and pick a hotel that values its guests.

The place was disgusting and beat up. There was what I hope were vomit stains on the bathroom walls, cabinet trim was broken, and the pillows were tiny. The hallway smelled of weed, and the room door had graffiti that was painted over badly. Checking into a real property after staying somewhere like this feels like pure bliss.
