For one night, this was a good option. It was near places to eat and reasonably close to the concert venue. Lyft found the hotel easily, and the staff were very willing to help with directions.

A solid budget option, especially for the price. The rooms were clean, the sheets fresh, and breakfast adequate. The reception area is small.

Our anniversary trip turned into a stressful mess. We checked in at 3:30, went to dinner, and left our key in the room. When we came back and asked the front desk to let us in, the man couldn’t find me, insisted we had a different room, then said our room had just been given to another guest. We eventually got him to come upstairs so we could retrieve our things. He stood in the hall for five minutes arguing with the woman who had checked us in, right by the door where our belongings were inside with a stranger. After we got our stuff, we were moved into some other room at random. He told us to wait while he got the new keycard. Ten minutes later, I went downstairs and found him on his phone, having completely forgotten us. I told him it wasn’t okay that our room had been given away when our belongings could have been stolen. He blamed the other woman. There was no compensation, not even an apology. Instead of relaxing on our anniversary, we spent the night on a wild goose chase. The customer service was awful.

The Madison health department is involved, and it feels like only a matter of time before the whole building is condemned. The room was filthy. There was mold in the A/C unit and live and dead bugs in the bed and throughout the room. We were there for only an hour. The random guy working the front desk, the manager, and housekeeping all said they thought the room was acceptable and would rent it to other guests after we left. This was after we showed video evidence of bugs crawling in the bed, though the site wouldn’t let me add the video. Housekeeping examined the room with us and stood by the condition. That says a lot about the other rooms there. Staff were all rude and unhelpful, and communication was difficult because of a language barrier and what seemed to be different standards of living. There’s a reason the manager on duty was blacked out on the check-in sign 🤣.
