The location is great, easy to find, and service from the employees was friendly, polite, and quick. If the issues below were fixed, I’d give the hotel five stars. Several things need maintenance. The indoor pool heater was broken, and the water was hyperthermic, so this was more than a minor complaint. The ice machine was broken too, and other amenities were broken or their status was unclear. The new owners removed the hot tub and are still updating the hotel. As of my post, the jets in the one room with a Jacuzzi tub didn’t work, so it was only usable as a soaking tub. The room looked nice and updated. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, waffles, and cereal, and there was a substantial amount as long as it wasn’t a big event weekend. The main problem was that some guests were smoking weed indoors. The smell spread through the halls and into rooms, making it hard for people with breathing sensitivities to breathe. Staff were nice and saw to our needs quickly, so I would recommend the hotel if the maintenance and smoke problems were addressed.

The room and atmosphere were very enjoyable. The pull-out bed felt like nothing but springs, though. I mentioned it at the front desk, and they fixed the problem right away. They handled it so promptly that it exceeded my expectations, and I barely had to explain.

The manager was friendly, and Rachel at the front desk was personable and really accommodating. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the beds are comfortable. I’d absolutely recommend staying here if you’re passing through Madison.

A heads-up: this hotel has stairs only, with no elevator. Nathan at the front desk deserves a huge shout-out. He was gracious and so helpful. On our nine-day trip, we’d stayed at places with similar prices and had some real jerks at check-in who acted like we were interrupting their screen time. Nathan was the complete opposite and couldn’t have been more accommodating. AmericInn, keep this guy! Thank you, Nathan.

Check-in was unpleasant. The front desk person seemed annoyed that she had to help us, and the manager also had poor customer service. I don’t recommend staying here.
