ECHO Suites Extended Stay by Wyndham Madison

The hotel felt safe to us, and we liked that you need a room key to get into the building. We're not from Madison, so that extra security meant a lot. My daughter was glad it's on the bus route, too. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We needed an accessible room for our son, and it was amazing, spacious, and very accessible, with everything at “his” level. Thanks for a great stay!

The rooms are new and updated, but the walls are paper thin. The key card system had been down for over a week, so cards couldn't open the hotel or the rooms. Every time I left and came back, I waited another 20-30 minutes for staff to escort me in. Check-in itself took an hour, and several other people in the lobby had also been waiting that long. Having to get someone to let me into the building and room each time made it feel more like a jail cell than a hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're fine with those waits.

During my nine-month stay, a room change took a long time, and the new room was so dirty that my feet turned black from walking on the floor. Tanya at the front desk was the only person who took charge: she cleaned it herself, answered questions accurately, and followed up when she needed more information. She seemed like the clear choice for manager. Since the new manager came in, professionalism has notably declined. Key cards often fail, leaving guests unable to enter their rooms or even the building. The elevator beeped continuously for a whole weekend without anyone addressing it, and staff enter rooms for alarm checks without giving advance notice. Wi-Fi is poor and limited to two devices, while room rates remain excessive. These repeated service failures and lack of communication point to concerning management standards. I wouldn't return.

I'm staying here between apartments, and so far it's been a wonderful extended stay. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the cleaning crew does a fantastic job in both the rooms and the hotel's shared areas. I feel safe here, and I really like how quiet it is. Restaurants and stores are close by, as are I-90 and other highways. From what I understand, the place has been open for about a year. I'd highly recommend it.
