Best Western West Towne Suites

We paid about $300 for four nights, and the hotel was clean, safe, quiet, comfortable, and competitively priced. Downtown Madison was around a 10 minute drive, and late February was quiet. There was plenty of parking beside the hotel. The room was warm and very clean, with a comfortable king bed and pillows. The bedroom had two nightstands with lamps, a bureau and large TV, a window looking onto the back of another building, plus a small fridge and microwave. The separate living area had a sofa, side tables, a little dining table with two chairs and a sofa table. It was well lit, and the lamps had USB ports. There was also an iron and ironing board. The private bathroom had a big tub and shower, and a large counter by the sink. A hall area had another large counter and a coffee machine with free coffee. Breakfast was free, and coffee was available around the clock. There were good bagels, muffins and toast with peanut butter, jam or honey, along with cereal and milk, oats with chocolate chips and raisins, fresh apples and oranges, and good orange and apple juice. You could also get French toast, pancakes or eggs made while you waited, with bacon or chicken sausage. The small gym had good aerobic machines, and there was a little market for late night snacks. Customer service was great too. Thanks, Steve. I'll definitely come back on future visits.

The checkout process was quick and easy. We needed to book a couple of rooms at short notice after our furnace broke during sub-zero weather, and the manager greeted us warmly and was very helpful. The rooms were clean, warm and reasonably quiet for a good price. The beds were firm, the pillows soft, and the bathrooms immaculate.

My room had been fully updated and smelled fresh, not like stale cigarettes. Even with its window facing the Beltline, it was very quiet. Everything was clean, the desk staff were friendly, and the showers had hot water and great pressure. They keep hot coffee available outside breakfast hours too. Great breakfast. I'd recommend it 10/10.

The location and price were both fine, and the staff were helpful when I had to switch rooms because the first one smelled strongly of smoke. They kindly upgraded me to a suite. Unfortunately, its door wouldn't close or lock all the way. I didn't want to move a second time, so I put up with it. Next time, I'd probably choose somewhere nearer downtown.
