Four Seasons Motel

The room itself was tolerable for a night. Everything worked, and the bedding and towels were clean. Still, I’d reserved a smoking room and was given a non-smoking one without being told. I went to the desk for ashtrays, thinking housekeeping had forgotten them, and only then learned the smoking rooms weren’t up to code and couldn’t be rented. Since my reservation specified smoking, the motel should have called while closed to explain and let me decide whether to keep or cancel the booking.

The room needs updating. The bathroom light didn’t work, and getting into the shower meant stepping up and over, which isn’t accessible for someone with mobility needs. There was only a fitted sheet on the bed, no mattress cover. I expected a nicer overnight stay.

The room smelled so bad that, even though it was already very late, I had to use air freshener from my vehicle just to get through the night. The sink drain was clogged, and the tub filled halfway while I showered because it drained so slowly. There were dirty Q-tips on the floor and an alcoholic drink and melted Dairy Queen Blast left in the fridge. Nasty and filthy. I’ll never come back, and this place deserves no business. I was in the area from Missouri for two nights, but after the first night here I moved to Great View Motel in Fort Covington for the second. It was $6 cheaper and very clean. I’d recommend it over this motel.

The staff have been kind and accommodating, and my son and I found our room clean, comfortable, and nice. We’re staying at the Four Seasons in Malone NY for one night. If we come back to the area, this would be my first choice, and I’d recommend it to travelers passing through. Tham you!
