Courtyard Manassas Battlefield Park

The elevator in our wing was out of service for much of the day. I didn’t mind taking the stairs, but it was clearly a hassle for many guests, especially after a long day. We also needed separate keys for the building and the room, which made returning feel like unlocking different levels in a video game. There were several maintenance issues. A ledge in the shower was broken and unusable, and the room looked worn down. The windows were stained enough to make the view hard to enjoy. In the gym, the towel bin was there but there were no towels, and the TV remote was missing. When my wife asked the front desk for a towel, the staff seemed annoyed instead of helpful. Right after we entered our room during our three-night stay, I found an empty wine bottle and a crushed cigar in a cup on the balcony. The previous guests had apparently left, but their party remained. I tried to toss the items, then realized there wasn’t a trash can anywhere on our floor. I don’t like complaining, but these are honest, constructive notes. Better cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service would make the guest experience much better.

The pool is kid-friendly, and the gym has nice new equipment. The hotel has had a really nice remodel, and the staff are super friendly and efficient. We’re here at Christmas, and the hotel is pretty empty, though so is everything else nearby. I don’t know how other local hotels at similar prices compare, but we’re very happy here, and I’m always glad to see new carpeting. This is our third visit in five years, and we’ll definitely be back. The hotel is next door to Cracker Barrel, with plenty of fast food within a five-minute drive.

The lobby looks good with its modern furniture, and the food is tasty. Staff are helpful and go out of their way to make the stay a good experience. The room was simple but clean, with nice furniture and good quality beds. It’s a definite improvement, and I’d recommend staying here.

The rooms were fine and the staff were good, but housekeeping only leaves the two coffee servings from check-in and doesn’t bring more during the stay. They also replace all the towels hanging up, even though the bathroom signs say to rehang towels that don’t need replacing to help save water.
