The kitchen area was filthy, with what looked like months of crumbs, grease, and food residue on the walls and molding. The coffee maker was broken and looked as if it had never been cleaned. The bathroom was covered in hair and mildew, and I had to go to the desk and insist someone come clean it. A teenage employee spent about five minutes in there and only wiped the toilet. I had to spell out that the shower needed cleaning too, and ask him to clean it as if it were his own home. I also called for towels and was told someone would call me right back, but no one did, and nobody answered when I tried again. Absolutely disgusting. The owners clearly don’t care since they don’t have to stay there. Don’t go.

The manager was rude when I asked about the room situation, and she said she didn’t have to tell me what was available. She even bragged about firing the housekeeper and the operations manager, who had been a sweetheart. I think this place needs a health department inspection. We stayed two weeks, then were told to check out because someone else had reserved our room, even though they had nothing else available. When I came back to check out, someone without a reservation had been checked in. During our stay, the place was filthy, ants were in the bathrooms, and my socks turned black after walking on the floors for just a few minutes. The microwave didn’t work. The sofa in the renovated room looked like it was from the 90s and was ripped. In one room the TV didn’t work, and in the other, the main room, cables stuck out of the dresser where it was installed. The presentation was unprofessional and made it seem like they didn’t care about guests. They’re renovating rooms, but the work is poorly done. The heat didn’t work in some rooms, and where it did, it only blew warm air while we stayed freezing. Housekeeping had to bring extra blankets. Save your hard-earned money and stay somewhere else, even for an extended stay. Other guests I saw weren’t happy either, and the other reviews back up what I’m saying. Run away. I can’t warn you enough about the wasted time and aggravation.

The renovation is a joke, and the furniture looks 25 years old. There’s no chest of drawers, so the empty kitchen cabinets are about the only place to put clothes. The pool wasn’t usable, just a green, mucky hole. There were no dishes, utensils, cups, glasses, pots, or pans, even though I’m paying for them. No amenities at all.

The shower turned cold after about ten minutes, and the TV didn’t work properly. Instead of moving us, they swapped out the television. My boyfriend had to carry it in and hook it up because the only man available couldn’t lift it. Nobody offered a refund, a coupon, or even an apology for the hassle. I would’ve left right away if it weren’t for my boyfriend, whose birthday we were there to celebrate. Such a bad experience. Never again.

Getting our deposit back was a hassle, even though I smoked outside and the camera facing the door could have shown that. When we checked out, they accused me of smoking in the room and tried to keep the $150 deposit. They eventually returned it. The room they sent us to had a door off its hinges and a screen outside the window. It was around 1 a.m. by then. The staff member went to inspect another room and made me wait in the lobby. He said that room was fine, though it smelled like someone had smoked in it, and promised to note that so my deposit wouldn’t be taken. Before that, we’d spent two hours sorting out a price problem. I booked at 7 a.m. after guest relations quoted one rate and emailed a confirmation, but Studio 6 wanted $20 more because their prices hadn’t been updated. The front desk worker didn’t believe my confirmation until guest relations called and told her to honor it. Then manager Tasheena Bell got on the phone and argued with me instead of taking responsibility for the error. She finally agreed to the quoted rate, but required a deposit. I’d been told the refundable cash deposit was $25, but at check-in they said it had changed to $150 because of recent renovations. There was no sign about it, and I didn’t sign anything acknowledging the deposit. No one wore name tags, so I couldn’t tell staff from guests. The shower water stayed hot for only about three minutes before turning freezing. After I called, the desk said to wait and call back if it didn’t return to normal. A different shift later agreed to move us, but the whole experience was deeply unprofessional. They said the rooms had been renovated, but everything still looked old apart from the new floors. I won’t give them my business again, and I’ll tell people I know to avoid it too.
