The best part is the location and peaceful feel. We stayed with friends July 26-27, 2025, in rooms 7 and 9, which had walkout patios. All four of us enjoyed it and had no complaints. The rooms were clean, simple, updated, and relaxing. The beds were firm but comfortable, and the place was well priced for the area in summer. The staff I spoke with were friendly and professional. It was blazing hot that weekend, but the air conditioning worked fully. Bring a cooler or use the mini fridge, about the size of one you’d see in a college dorm or small office. You can enjoy the channel out the back door and destress. It’s on our list for another quick getaway.

We had a freshly remodeled room in this cute, dog-friendly motel. The location was amazing, with a short walk to the beach, a beautiful river boardwalk, and downtown within walking distance.

Most of the back doors seem to look out toward the river inlet. It’s a nice little motel on the river walk, and the whole town is within walking distance.

If you just need a reasonably priced place to sleep while traveling, this is a good spot. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re clean, and I like that they’re walk-up rooms. The staff were super friendly, and the smart TV let us watch Netflix before bed. The river is behind the motel, and some rooms looked like they had doors opening right onto it. There are lots of little shops and places within walking distance, and one of the Lake Michigan beaches is about a 10 minute walk away.

The woman at the front desk is so mean and disrespectful to people. Her attitude makes you not want to come here. She’s here once a week, and when midnight hits on the day you have to pay, she jumps right down your throat. It’s horrible.
