Colorful Bungalow By Pikes Peak/garden of the Gods

The breakfast changes from day to day and has enough choices for picky kids. There's a park nearby, and food is only a short drive away. It's also about 20 minutes to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and, man, there are a lot of weed stores around. The main downside was a slightly musty room when the AC wasn't running, plus the pool left the kids shivering. The spot just off the highway is hard to beat.

The front desk was helpful and friendly, and the rooms were clean, though a bit dated. It's centrally located for the attractions. Breakfast was mostly processed basics, with boiled eggs, yogurt, and cereal, and didn't feel like a proper hot breakfast. The coffee was very good. The room seemed somewhat overpriced, though still better than an average Days Inn.

The hotel itself was fine, but we could hear everything through the connecting door to the next room. Our neighbor watched a horror movie and kept shouting until midnight, so we didn't get a good night's sleep. Such a shame there isn't soundproofing between those rooms. Reusable dishes at breakfast would also be better for sustainability.

The staff were nice, and the place was clean enough for my one-night stay. It did have a smell, though, and if I come back to the area I'll probably book somewhere else.
