The room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk attendant was pleasant and professional, even offering to help bring our things in. Breakfast was complimentary, which was a great bonus. The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept. On our departure morning, though, we saw a manager training or correcting a young employee at breakfast. The manager touched all the food with bare hands, and we hadn’t seen her wash them or put on gloves. We were glad we’d already eaten. The staff need sanitation training.

We’re in town to help my older daughter get settled in her dorm at Mansfield University, and the hotel is perfectly located. The room and common areas are immaculate, quiet, and have a nice view. It smells fresh without that strong perfume or cleaning-product odor I hate. We’ll be comfortable here while we wait out a major winter storm.

The room was clean and the location was great. Brian went above and beyond with my reservation, linking my extension before I even asked. My bags were delayed, so he also gave me a toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant. Really friendly service. Thanks, Brian.

I’ve been staying here for the last several weekends, and Brian and his colleagues have been a huge help to me and my loved ones. Big shout-out to Brian. Keep shining your Brilliance💎, you’ve got this. Thank you so much!

I chose this hotel for Wineglass Marathon Weekend in Corning, NY, because it was the most reasonably priced option. Places closer were sold out or far too expensive. As a HHonors Gold member, I usually get two bottles of water and a snack at Hilton properties, but here I was given only one bottle and a snack at check-in. I wish the locations were consistent. The app showed just one room available to choose, on the fourth floor, and none on the other floors, so I assumed the hotel was sold out. That wasn’t a problem until I entered my room and smelled sewage. I checked that the toilet had been flushed, lowered the temperature in case the air needed to circulate, but the smell stayed. The shower’s glass doors were dirty too. Dianne from the Front Desk texted at 11:13p to welcome me and invite me to text if I needed anything. I told her at 11:32p about the sewage smell and dirty doors and asked for Lysol spray, but got no response. I had to be out before 6a, so I went to sleep. Just before 6a, I told Thomas at the Front Desk what was wrong. He confirmed they were sold out and couldn’t move me. I asked for Lysol, and he quickly got a can from a locked room in the hallway. I sprayed the room, returned the can, then left. I came back around noon to change before going back out. In the shower I noticed what looked like mold. I also saw that Dianne had texted at 10:54a asking how the stay was going. At 12:40p, I sent her the same message as before. On my way out, I spoke with her at the desk. She gave several excuses for not responding. I asked for Lysol again, since she too confirmed there were no rooms available, but she said they didn’t have any. I told her Thomas had found a can in the locked room and pointed out the hallway. She made no effort to look for it, so I said I’d buy one later. When I asked what they could do to make this right, she said she didn’t know and had asked her manager for advice. I pushed for a better answer, and she offered to send Maintenance to the room. I was leaving and didn’t want anyone in there while I was gone. I also said the issue should have been addressed before renting the room, since surely the person who cleaned it smelled the stench. Dianne offered to comp one night. I said that wasn’t enough if I had to stay in that room for the rest of the reservation, and that the whole stay should be comped. She eventually agreed, but it took far too much effort to get there. I’ve been a Hilton Honors member since 2005 and rarely stay with another brand. The Hilton promise was that customers are 100% satisfied or the stay is on Hilton. Hilton couldn’t make this right. I’ve never lived in filth or stayed in a filthy hotel, even while deployed in the Army, so I don’t understand why I was expected to pay for a room that smelled of sewage. Loyal customers and veterans deserve better. Dianne seemed indifferent and apathetic, and never offered to come smell the room herself. If I come back for the same race, I won’t stay here.
