Hampton Inn & Suites Mansfield

Lindsay at the front desk was polite and helpful, and I had no problems during the stay. The hotel is near the highway, so there’s bound to be some noise.

We needed somewhere nearby after the power went out in 100-degree heat, and the rates were reasonable. We hadn’t booked ahead, but check-in was quick and easy. The woman at the desk was so friendly and accommodating. I wish I’d caught her name. Our room was spotless and roomy, with really comfortable beds and a view of the pool. Breakfast had a great range, including omelettes, sausage, potatoes, bagels, cereal, fruit, and waffles. When I came down, Lindsey offered me one of the to-go bags, which was a nice surprise. It had water, an apple, a bagel, peanut butter, and two kinds of jelly. He was lovely to talk with and wished us well as we headed out. There are lots of restaurants and shops close by, and I’d recommend the hotel for work or a leisure stay.

I should’ve read the reviews before booking. The AC was loud, the halls and elevator smelled, and my sheets hadn’t been changed since Sunday, even though I specifically asked on Tuesday. I made the mistake of walking barefoot. My feet got so sticky and gross that I had to wash them and put socks on. I asked the owner to make this right, since I’m a loyal Hilton customer, and wanted to see if they valued honest feedback. I later realized I hadn’t posted this. UPDATE: I believe in second chances, and today they made things right. They replaced the AC unit, changed my sheets, and checked that I was happy with how they handled it.

The location was nice, but the mattress wasn’t great, and I’ve had more comfortable sleep at other Hampton Inn’s. Bottled water also cost extra, and the front desk staff weren’t very attentive.
