Travelodge Mansfield

We booked two nights for an event at the Ohio State Reformatory, but only stayed one. We knew as soon as we opened the door that the room wasn't for us. It was old, dark, dirty, smelled of leftover smoke, and had gross brown stains on the chair. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and the outside doors made it feel like a pay-by-the-hour motel. The area felt sketchy, and the lobby was around 50° behind protective glass. There was also people's stuff left in the fridge. We moved to another hotel for the second night and finally felt safe and comfortable. I'd spend a little extra to avoid this one. I was charged $77 for one night, even though my booking clearly showed $65 with tax. I believe I was overcharged.

The room was clean and the beds were comfy, and it was quiet. After a long drive, that cozy first impression was welcome. The front desk attendant was friendly and knew the nearby places to eat. Can't beat the price!

Really welcoming, engaging people at the front desk, top notch. It's a great value with easy access, and there's a wonderful Mexican restaurant next door.

The room had a really big fridge and the TV was placed nicely. A cable channel list would have helped. When we arrived, it was hot and musty because the air was off, so we opened the window for fresh air. The bathroom door wouldn't shut all the way, which felt awkward while sharing the room. Our key kept erroring at the front door, and the desk staff just issued new keys instead of asking maintenance to check the mechanism or battery. Conveniently quiet location, and a good stay overall, with a few annoyances.
